Put up a fuking light because you idi0ts try to blame the drivers when these fuking idi0ts will literally step in the middle of traffic instead of waiting until it's clear to cross and then y'all think somebody is supposed to stop for them and then when they end up in a fuking accident u or them aren't going to pay for the fuking damage that happened you're going to be looking for the dude who stop because a fuking idi0t stepped in the middle of the street instead of waiting until there's no traffic to cross the street.

I thought walking across the street in Italy was sketch till i met my friend in America. (Mississippi and Louisiana) the parts they lived they have no such thing as sidewalks or crossings. You HAVE to have a car to live out there. Apart from that beautiful place and people.

When I waking up in bed yesterday morning, I had a brief "mind connect" with Roberta inwhich I was clinging onto her arm and hand while trying to explain to her why the acute bout of insomnia that I was experiencing (at the time) had a LOT to do with my blowing it the way I did ... and that I NEVER meant to embarrass her or hurt her in any way at all.😢 😔 This year, I'll be the big seven-oh, and that means that soon me and this putrid hate-filled world will finally be done with each other. For the most part, it's been a real slice of dirty, ugly-rotten purgatory ... and I sincerely pray and hope that I never have to spend another moment in this or any similar world ever again.🤕💔🤕💔 April 13, 2024 Note: Currently in the news, it would appear that Armageddon, as prophesied in the Bible, is about to kick-off in the Middle East with h-bombs ultimately blasting-away MUCH OF THE WORLD!!!😢😢😢 One question: How are supposedly bright, kind, logical (married) men and women able to look at each other and say, "Let's start a family"???!🥺🤔 [If there is a more fair and meaningful question than this out there, I'd sure like to hear it.😔]

For comparison the rules in Germany (where people actually walk…) and similar in most of Europe: * drivers are ALWAYS at least 50% responsible when hitting a pedestrian; 100%, when there is any realistic chance, the collision could have been avoided. * zebra crossings much not be used on streets with more than one lane per direction or traffic faster that 50 kph (30 mph) is allowed; in this case a traffic light much be installed (and yes, this quite often is every 300 meters/1000 feet). * all vehicles much yield to pedestrians, who may want to cross at a zebra crossing. No overtaking around such at any given time. * any spot with a stop or yield sign creates an automatic "virtual crosswalk" with the same rules. * pedestrians may also cross at any other place they want, when they can find a gap in traffic. Drivers are still required to stop if possible. If crossing is to dangerous, a physical barrier is needed. So the ONLY thing a pedestrian is legally required to do is give drivers a chance to stop. And not walk over a red light (which may cost 5€ or far more likely somebody jelling "bad example for children!"). Any other responsibility is on the drivers, because those are legally "trained professionals" (that's why they need a "licence" to drive!). Oh, and a design where the median island continues on the left of the crossing is basically the norm.

2:03 There's nothing wrong with that in my country. The definition of "yielding" here is not to obstruct a road user (force him to change his path or speed) who has priority. In this case, the pedestrian kept walking as he did before when the car drove by.

Nice work the city has done. Instead of narrow down the road or putting a stop light on, the city chose to harass drivers who were likely not having the chance to see the pedestrians. It takes engineering to stop accidents, not harassment from "law enforcement".

The law in the UK has changed. If a pedestrian is waiting to cross, traffic *must* yield. Also - if a pedestrian is on *any* part of the crossing - even the other side of the road - traffic *must* stop.

Apparently you don't understand why there are so many jaywalkers. Imagine having a car required to stop a at a green signal and wait for the red before crossing on the next green. Can you imagine the furor? Yet that is what most pedestrian signals have pedestrians do. And don't get me started on the countdowns which then add an additional 8 seconds after zero for "safety". All it does is make people not trust the signals, so they jaywalk.

The speakers in this video are taking the wrong approach. Bullying the people in that room is just going to close their ears, cross their arms and dig their heels in. In June of 2000 when I was 23, I got a DUI. I blew a bac of .15 - I had to attend a MADD impact panel as part of the consequences. The one I went to wasn’t like this one. The mother’s were there because either their child was killed by a drunk driver OR their child was the one who was drinking and driving and killed themselves and/or somebody else. They weren’t there to make you feel like the biggest piece of shit on the planet and point fingers. We were treated and talked to like human beings. And guess what? At the end, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. Most of us stayed after to offer condolences and cry with them and thank them for sharing their stories. Now, THAT had an impact on me.
